Trout Pond
The trout pond is a extra fee feature at the WI Ice Fishing Expo that let’s kids dip a rod in the water and catch a live trout to take home. As an extra bonus we will have an assortment of prizes for each kid that catches a tagged trout!
Ice Fishing 101 Seminar with Capt. Greg Karch
Ice Fishing Basics 101 uses an interactive approach to introduce people to the skills and equipment needed to begin fishing. This seminar is perfect for families, youth and adults. You will learn: safety while ice fishing, how to use a tip-up and spinning fishing combo, how to jig, different basic fishing presentations, how to tie a Clinch and Palomar knot, fish identification, live and artificial baits we use to ice fish, keeping a fishing journal and so much more. On Saturday, December 9, the first 50 youth 16 and under will receive a ice fishing combo for attending the seminar. Thanks to the National Professional Anglers Association and Future Anglers Foundation.
Pat Kalmerton Ice Fishing With Kids Seminar
If you’ve thought about taking your kids ice fishing and just don’t know where to start then this seminar with Pat Kalmerton is a great starting point. On Sunday, December 10, Pat will share his tips on how to introduce ice fishing to kids and how to make the entire day an enjoyable experience for everyone including parents!
Ice Junkies Kids Zone & Santa Sunday!
Be sure to get to the WI Ice Fishing Expo and visit the Ice Junkies Outdoors Kids Zone! They will have fun games and activities for the kids. Let your little ones test there skill at a bag toss simulated fishing derby. Each bag will represent different weights that they will then have to register at a weigh-in. They will also have some pop-up hub shelters that kids can get timed on to see how fast they can get a hub shelter set up.
Plus we will have a special visitor from the North pole visiting the WI Ice Fishing Expo on Sunday, December 10 from 10am to 2pm. Be sure to get the kids to the Expo to get photos and have all the little kids make their wish requests with Santa!
Kids Can Play Fish Bingo!
With a special thanks to Acme Tackle, Fish Bingo is at the 2023 WI Ice Fishing Expo. The first 250 kids 12 and under each day of the expo will receive a bingo card. Fill each spot on the card and your child will receive a WI Fishing Expo goodie bag. The goodie bag will include a lure courtesy of Acme Lures, some candy, temporary WI Fishing Expo tattoo and more. This promotion will run while supplies last. This is a great way to keep your kids engaged and busy at the expo.
